Jim was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Adams, mother Elizabeth Adams, and sister Suzanne Rowe. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sally (Luark) Adams, brother Lewis Adams, sons Kirk (Roz) Adams and Jay (Sheri) Adams, daughter Melissa (Sam) Luna, and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim was born in Hoquiam, WA. He spent most of his early years at Lake Quinault, and moved to Montesano as a freshman in high school. It is with great sadness that the basketball community and the state of Washington said farewell to retired Mercer Island head basketball coach, Ed Pepple, who passed away on the morning of September 14th, 2020. To everyone he was “Coach Pepple”. After a battle with cancer, former Edmonds Community College men’s basketball coach Keith Kingsbury died on Monday, Aug. 24, less than five weeks after his 80th birthday. WIBCA Hall of Fame Event Cancelled Due to the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 and uncertainty of future state policies; while also wanting to ensure a safe and positive environment for a WIBCA-related event, we are cancelling the 2020 WIBCA Hall of Fame inductions scheduled for July 23rd at the Nile golf and Country Club in Mountlake Terrace. Thanks to those that attended our recent fall clinic hosted by the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association. This years clinic provided a variety of excellent speakers from the high school, community college, NAIA and D1 collegiate levels. Headline speakers were Coach Kyle Smith of Washington State University mens team and Shantay Legans from the Eastern Washington mens program. WIBCA, with the support of Shoot-A-Way, was again able to give away a brand new Shooting "Gun" to one lucky attendee.
