Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association (WIBCA) will induct an auspicious Class of 2022 at their July banquets. The Eastside ceremony in Spokane on July 19 will honor head coaches Ray Ricks (Northwest Christian) and Rick Sloan (Central Valley) for his many years of service as a coach and athletic director Jamie Nilles (West Valley Spokane) will receive the Ed & Shirley Pepple Service Award. The Pat Fitterer positive coaching award will be given to Levi Heyen (Cashmere).

The July 21 Westside banquet, at the Nile Shrine Center, will fete five head coaches: John Callaghan (South Kitsap), Mike Kelly (Seattle Prep), Jason Kerr (O’Dea), Mark Schelbert (Fife), and Rick Skeen (King’s). Two assistant coaches, John Flanigan (Kentridge) and John Medak (Gig Harbor), will also be inducted. The Ed & Shirley Pepple Service Award will be presented to Puyallup Fairgrounds gym creation committee. JC Alexander (Mountain View) will receive the Pat Fitterer Positive Coaching Award.
