He was 90 years old. Raymond was born on Aug. 7, 1934, in Portland, OR, to his parents John and Lucille Cresap. A proud graduate of Battle Ground High School in 1953, he went on to attend the University of Washington, where he excelled as a two-sport athlete in basketball and baseball. Legendary Centralia hoops coach Ron Brown passes away

He was 90 years old. The educator and coach, whose longevity was surpassed only by his legendary calm on the Hub City sidelines, guided the Tigers to state basketball championships in 1979 and 1981. The Eastside ceremony in Spokane at the Karen Gaffney Room at Gonzaga University on July 16 will honor head coaches Ron Cox (Lakeside Nine Mile Falls) and Jay Webber (North Central High School). Also Inducted will be Ron Livingston (East Valley-Yakima) as an assistant coach. He was 86. “I would say that when you think of Tenino, you think of Hal Williams,” Tenino boys basketball coach Ryan Robertson said. In his career in Tenino, Williams served as the principal of Tenino Elementary School — now Parkside Elementary school, where his son Brock is now principal.
